We got wild, we got crazy, we got Bollywood Baby!!! We had a full blown Indian Extravaganza and I tell ya, people had fun!!! We ate Indian, we danced Indian and we played Indian!
Start off by creating a vibe! This is a must. The guests should feel like they're entering another world.
Invite: Pick a fun invite/ evite design that's reminiscent of your theme and start to get people excited!
Flowers: I went with bright fuchsia and orange carnations
Ambiance: We placed hundreds of tealights all over the house
Music: Dus Bahane and several other including electronic versions of Indian beats
Menu: Samosas with all the sauces, Indian Summer Quinoa, Veggie Curry, Potatoes Vindaloo and Garlic Naan
Below is the recipe for one of our main attraction dishes served the night on the Bollywood Bash!
Indian Summer Quinoa
1 cup Quinoa
1 pk or 1 1/ cups organic mushrooms
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 teaspoon muchi curry powder
white cooking wine or vermouth
toasted sesame oil
1/2 cup pine nuts
Rinse the Quinoa well and drain. Cook Quinoa as directed on box in medium size pot.
Heat pan and coat with sesame oil in a large, heavy skillet over medium heat .Add yellow onion and mushrooms and cook until golden, finish with 1/3 cup wine or vermouth. Once the wine or Vermouth has absorbed set aside.
